NORTHERN LIGHTS TRAINS MOORINGS TECHNICIANS IN THE WINDWARD ISLANDS

Feb 27th 2025

On February 17 Todd Bartus from Northern Lights and Gavin Dooley from Parts & Power travelled to St. Lucia to put on service training for the Moorings technicians. Technicians from the St. Lucia and Grenada bases attended the training. The Moorings has set up a base to do phase out (turnover) preparation on St. Lucia.  The crew in St. Lucia are putting the vessels that are leaving the fleet in “as new” condition for the owners of those vessel. They are also setting up a Robertson & Cain Leopard Service Center as well. In addition, the technicians from the base are trying be proactive in maintaining the generators in their fleet and do emergency repairs more quickly.

16 technicians attended the training.  They received 3 days of intense training on the DC logic and AC power generation on Northern Lights generators. They learned how simple the features are on Northern Lights generators, and how to troubleshoot and repair them quickly. The attendees were very attentive and receptive to the training. It was clear that they would be able to readily apply the training they received to their day-to-day activities.
